Report a Fake

Help protect the community by reporting fraudulent items, compromised certificates, or known scammers.

Own this item and it is genuine? Report it here

A link to the seller's page or the exact listing lets us check the item ourselves. It is the single most useful thing you can add.

Leave an address if you want to hear the outcome. Sign in before reporting and an approved report also earns you 3 free checks.

If you have a confirmation from the authenticator (e.g. Beckett/PSA/JSA) or other proof, upload it here. Screenshots of messages or listings help our team verify the report faster.

Reporting a fake - common questions

What do I need before I can submit a report?

A provider, the certificate number, a reason, and one piece of evidence: either a link to the seller or the listing, or at least one photo. A certificate number on its own is an assertion we cannot check, so those reports are refused by the form rather than left sitting in the queue.

Do I need an account to report a fake?

No. Anyone can report a suspected counterfeit without signing in. Signing in first means we can email you the outcome and add 3 free checks to your account if the report is approved, but it is not required.

What happens after I submit?

A person reviews every report. If we can stand behind it, the certificate number goes into the CheckCOA fraud registry and every collector who checks that number afterwards sees the warning. Either way we email you the decision and the reason for it.

What if the certificate number is real but the item is not?

That is a common case and it has its own outcome. Some numbers are genuine records that have been copied onto a different item. Rather than mark the number fake, which would be unfair to whoever owns the real item, we attach a caution notice saying the number has been seen on suspected fakes and that the record does not match.

How long does a review take?

Reports are reviewed by hand, so there is no fixed turnaround. A report with a working listing link and clear photos is decided much faster than one that needs chasing, which is the main reason those two things are now required.

I own the item and it is genuine. Is this the right form?

No. If your own certificate has been flagged and you want the number cleared, use the Report a Genuine Item page instead. That form asks for the document behind your claim, such as a full LOA or the original invoice.
