Why a listing will not submit

A batch is validated before anything reaches eBay, and blocking errors are listed on the row. Here is what each one means.

  • "Needs input" on an item specific: eBay requires that field and the certificate does not prove it. Open the row editor and enter it. This is deliberate, CheckCOA will not guess a fact about a certified item.
  • No eligible photo: add a photo of the item you hold, or confirm the exact-item and usage rights on a provider photograph.
  • Price not confirmed: enter a positive Fixed Price, or a start price for an auction.
  • Missing business policies: the selected marketplace's Payment, Shipping or Return policies are incomplete. See "Before your first eBay listing".
  • Shipping origin missing: eBay answered with a bare input error because the address had only a country. Add a postal code, or a city and state, in eBay Settings.
  • Genuine item claim required: a certificate with a Fraud Alert remains blocked until an evidence-backed genuine item claim is approved. Confirming ownership alone does not clear the warning or permit publication.
  • Monthly listing limit reached: you have published your plan's listings for this period. The allowance resets on your billing date, or Dealer removes the monthly limit.
  • An eBay message on the row: that is eBay's own wording, passed through unchanged. Fix what it names and prepare the row again.

A note that is not an error: eBay may warn that funds from your sales are on hold for a period. That is a message about your eBay account, not a problem with the listing, and the listing is live.

Tip: Prepare is safe to repeat. It updates the same offer instead of creating a duplicate, and it will not overwrite a listing that is already live.
